Birthday Party Planning: Camp Roman!

Roman’s 1st birthday party is just a month away which means that this mama is in full-blown party planning mode — my favourite mode to be in! My office is literally being taken over by party supplies & party craft projects and… I love it. I thought I would share a few of my plans and projects.

As I’ve mentioned, the party is going to have a “Camp” theme — Camp Roman James, of course. I’ve partnered up with a bunch of amazing vendors to make it come to life. I’ll be working with Zazzle.com on a few gift guides in the coming months and they asked me to try out their service. So I ordered these adorable trucker hats and pin-buttons with the custom logo that I designed for the party on them. I love how they turned out & I can’t wait to share them with our little campers!

I also ordered a bunch of camp & nature-themed fabrics to be made into sitting pillows for the camp circle. How adorable are the fabrics!? The camping circle will be in front of this gorgeous teepee that I ordered from The Land of Nod.

Roman and I were browsing around a new dollar store the other day when I found these adorable green, tin buckets. I picked up six of them. I’m planning to fill each one with rocks and a mason jar of fresh flowers for the picnic table centerpieces.

I’ve got a few other projects on the burner at the moment. I’ve gathered all of the supplies to make these adorable arrows and I’m hoping to piece them together later this week. The envelopes just need to be stamped & addressed and the invitations will be ready to go out in the next couple of days. So exciting!

I want to give a quick shout out to the awesome vendors that I’m working with on this party. The lovely Papir Vendage Etsy shop will be creating our paper decorations. (Remember the gorgeous stuff she made for our Halloween party?) Lulu’s Inspirations — our amazing wedding planner — will be helping with the party setup and decor. And Kate Ignatowski will be snapping photos of Roman’s special day.

I’ve still got a few big things to take care of, including the menu. Here’s hoping that everything comes together smoothly over the next few weeks! I’m still pinning inspiration to the party pin board on Pinterest in case you want to follow along. xo

Those hats and pins are awesome! My daughter’s birthday party is on April 27th and I still haven’t even chosen a theme. Ugh, I’m too fickle and lazy. It’s wonderful how creative and ambitious you are with his party. I’m sure it’s going to turn out great!

Haha.. I am fickle about a lot of things but party planning is not one of them. I wish I could do it all the time. I’m obsessed. <3

At first I thought the theme was amazing, then I saw the hats. And the small collection of vendors. Dena, this will be epic!
