Feel like new. Feel like you. // Part Two

February 17, 2017

Thank you Jenny Craig for sponsoring this post. ā€” Get serious about losing weight with Jenny Craig!

Feel like new. //

This is my final post in my series with Jenny Craig. I am a little bit sad about that, but I am so excited about moving forward with the positive momentum that this experience has given me.

The thing that has stood out to me the most in this journey has been how effectively Jenny has changed my relationship with food. Over the course of my life, my relationship with food has been so up and down. There have been times when I was so healthy, constantly making smart decisions. But there have been other times, including recently, where my relationship with food was out of control. Essentially, I used food as a drug, and I abused it like a drug, too.

With Jenny Craig, members develop a healthy relationship with food, build an active lifestyle and create a more balanced approach to living. They understand and overcome the internal/external challenges to healthy eating, identify enjoyable ways to move more, learn positive coping strategies and reframe their beliefs and attitudes to better support their weight management goals.

Feel like new. //

All of these things were true for me. As soon as I began to see positive results, my energy and dedication to my health snowballed for the better. I grew more focused with each day that passed. I have been amazed by the results that I experienced inside of the program, and by the positive changes that I continue to experience as a result of what I have learned.

Feel like new. //

When it comes to health, wellness, and nutrition there are so many ways to approach it. For some, it comes naturally. For others, it takes a lot of work. As with everything in life, we all have our individual strengths and weaknesses. Jenny is a flexible program that can serve as a complete reset or simply as a gentle reminder. The beauty of the program is that, with your personal consultant, you always have someone there to cheer you on, motivate you and keep you on track. That support system means everything when it comes to accomplishing your goals.

Feel like new. //

If you have any questions about the program, feel free to hit me up. I am more than happy to answer your questions and speak about my experience.

Wishing you love and wellness always– xo

‘Back to School’ Style // Eyewear

September 9, 2016

“Back to School” season is in full swing and this year it’s been hitting our home extra hard, because Roman just started preschool! It’s been such an exciting first week for him and our family as we’ve gathered around to cheer him on.

Having a reason to do a little extra autumn shopping & styling for my baby boy is such a joy for me. I just adore all of the autumn colors and styles in the stores these days. Rich golden yellow, deep red hues, and the warmest browns are everywhere. I love finding adorable ways to keep my babies looking stylish & comfortable.

One of my favorite ways to add a cute detail to their looks is with glasses. There is something beyond adorable about the way the perfect frame just finishes their look and compliments their sweet, little faces.

One of my favorite places to find fashion eyewear at a great value for me & my kids is JCPenney Optical. Their selection has everything that you need for fun, style, and Back to School.

And while I’m on the subject, I have to share these gorgeous Cover Girl frames from JCPenney Optical that I’ve fallen in love with.

I couldn’t decide between the brown or the black frames, so I took to Snapchat to ask my friends for their thoughts. It looks like I’m going to go with the brown!

If you happen to be in the market for frames for yourself or your little ones, head in to JCPenney Optical today, the Labor Day Sale lasts through the end of the day and you can get 60% off a pair of frames!

Happy Friday, friends. I hope that you have a beautiful weekend and that your little ones first week back to school was a great success. xo

Rainbows & Bandana Bibs

August 3, 2016

Okay those two pictures above are definitely my two new favorites. How sweet are my babes? And also, how big are they getting!? (Too big!) Ahhh, I’m so in love with those little faces!

The other day we had been planning a late afternoon picnic out in the yard. Finally the time came and we got all ready to head out. Just then we noticed the sky turning dark and within minutes it was pouring. It was such a disappointment! That last hour before bedtime is always one of the hardest of the day for me. That’s why I love to get outside at that time. Usually we take a walk to the park or have a snack & run around in the yard to get out our pre-bedtime jitters.

Since the rain was keeping us inside that day we did a little impromptu picnic on the kitchen floor. You can see those outtakes at the bottom of the post. The great news, however, is almost as quickly as that storm came on, it drifted away. With less than an hour before dark, the rain had faded to a light drizzle and we decided to adventure on out after all.

I was walking toward the grass, looking down at my camera, when Roman pointed up at the sky behind me, “Look, Mama, a rainbow.” The most gorgeous rainbow was, indeed, sprawled across the sky. The most stunning gift that follows many storms. I am so glad that Roman pointed it out to me, there’s a good chance I might have missed it otherwise! His curiosity and attention to detail constantly take my breath away. I have so much to learn from these dear babies of mine.

I’d like to take a moment now to talk about those adorable bandana bibs that they are wearing in this post. They were a gift from our friend, Ann, at Ikkletots Bibs. Ann is an amazing mama to two daughters, and a grandmother to three little ones.

She started Ikkletots Bibs with the hope of selling a range of bandana bibs with unique designs. Her pieces are contemporary with strong colors that coordinate with most outfits. Her quality-made bibs stay the course. I absolutely love them for my little ones. They are stylish and highly absorbent — perfect for drooling babies and messy meal times! Ann has over 155 five-star reviews and counting.

Her girl’s line of bibs are found here: girl bandana bibs and her boy’s line is here: boy bandana bibs. You can find Ann on Facebook and on Pinterest, too.

^^ My sweet baby girl! Doesn’t she remind you of Pebbles Flintstone? ^^

Thanks so much to Ikkletots for sponsoring this post and thanks to you, my friends, for reading! xo

Music Festival Must-Haves & Style

August 2, 2016

Music Festival Style //

There are so many things to love about summertime, but one of the best has to be live music. Am I right? I’m right. šŸ˜‰ Last year I had to stay away from the music scene because we were dealing with Marina’s colic. But this year, I’m back at it. It’s so nice that both of my babies have reached an age where we can get out and do things.

Day trips are my favorite and when we can squeeze in some fun + some music, I call it the best day ever. Recently, I’ve popped Marina in the carrier and we’ve headed out to some local venues to check out a couple of local music festivals.

Music Festival Style //

It’s been a blast for me — and my goodness — that baby girl loves to wiggle to the music! Adorable as can be.

In honor of the fact that Lollapalooza is just wrapping up, I thought I’d put together a little post to share the things that I carry in our “festival” bag, as well as a few tips for practical (and cute!) festival style.

Festival Must-Haves:

1. CottonelleĀ® — Let’s be real, when you’re carrying around a toddler, things get Hot, with a capital H! It’s the best feeling to carry something in your bag, that leaves you feeling fresh and cool, no matter what. CottonelleĀ® knows it takes a bold confidence to go commando, but once youā€™ve got it ā€“ it makes all the difference. CottonelleĀ® with CleanRippleĀ® Texture is designed to clean better, so youā€™re clean & confident enough to go commando. CottonelleĀ® with CleanRippleĀ® Texture keeps you clean so you can rock out confidently this summer.

2. Sunscreen — I always carry something for me and something a little stronger for the babies. My daily moisturizer contains a bit of SPF, but I also carry an SPF 30 to put on my shoulders and back if we’ll be in the sun for awhile. I always keep the littles covered in SPF 50, all over.

3. Shades and Hats — We’ve got to keep our pretty eyes covered, too. I never leave home without my aviators and I’ve got an assortment of sunhats to keep the babies shaded at all times.

4. Comfy Shoes — How cute are Marina’s little “boho” sandals? I adore them. They keep her cool & comfortable. When it comes to festivals, I usually rock a pair of flat white sneakers or flip-flops. When you’re on your feet all day, comfort is key!

5. Simple, Stylish Accessories — Marina is just getting to the stage where her baby hair is growing close to her eyes. We’re not ready to cut it yet, but an adorable pink bow clip keeps it pinned up and out of the way. For me, I chose a simple choker of wooden beads, perfectly “festival chic.”

6. Cool Summer Dresses — Standing and rocking out in the sun all day requires comfort and coolness. I chose a light, airy crochet dress for Marina and a cool, gauzy dress for myself. In matching shades of sunshine yellow, of course.

7. Lip gloss — Last but not least… I keep my makeup light all summer, but I never leave home without a favorite, sweet & shiny gloss for my lips.

Alright, I think I’ve covered all of the basics! So what do you think? Are you headed to any festivals or fun, summery events soon? If you don’t have any plans, don’t worry. You can enter to win an all-inclusive trip to Wanderlust 108 Festival in Miami on October 22, RIGHT HERE! Good luck.

If you can think of any other festival “must-haves” that I missed, let me know in the comments. xo

The Magic of Late Spring

June 17, 2016

The Magic of Late Spring //

ā€œIn the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt.ā€
–Margaret Atwood

There’s something so intense about these last few days of spring. School is getting out. The wildflowers are beginning to bloom. Daylight seems to stretch on forever and the possibility for magic seems endless. It has always taken my breath away. These luminous moments when anything seems possible. We’re just on the cusp of summer and there is everything to look forward to — campfires, beach trips, fireflies.

The past few days, the weather has been just perfect. Sunshine and blue skies and a little bit of a breeze. I’ve tried to spend as much time outside as possible. If you follow me on Instagram or Snapchat, then you may have seen me buzzing all over the place lately, squeezing in as many day trips as I can. Last month, I started working on a little project with Ford, test driving their C-Max Energi hybrid. So of course, I’ve been taking advantage of having a shiny, new — incredibly efficient — vehicle to cart us around on our adventures. We’ve been all over from the city to the beach to the countryside, and I’ve been thrilled by just how little I’ve had to fill up the gas tank.

It’s been a pleasure driving around in the C-Max for the past month. I love the idea of plug-in hybrid vehicles and the benefits that they offer. Things like reduced dependence on petroleum fuels, reduced environmental impact through reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, and consumer savings on energy and fuel costs are all win/wins. Good for the environment and good for our pocketbooks. Even though it will probably be a ways off, I will definitely be looking at hybrids when I start shopping for my next vehicle.

Learn more about Ford hybrids and the #drivingonenergi program here and on Facebook, too.

I hope that you’ve been squeezing in some fun yourself and enjoying these last, magical days of spring. Here’s to summer being right around the corner.
