Day 3: Your Favourite Quote

I love quotes! I’ve been collecting them for years. Truth be told — I have quite a few favourites; but there is one that stands out above all the others. It is:

“If it’s not okay, it’s not the end.”

I am not 100% certain where the quote comes from although Google seems to think that it was John Lennon who said it first. The source doesn’t matter to me. I love it because there is so much hope in it. I turn to it often when I am going through a difficult time. It gives me the strength to go on, much like the other, more famous, “This too shall pass.” Except that this one tells even more than that — it goes beyond reminding me that the hard times will end, and assures me that everything will be alright once again. Perhaps it may seem trite or overly optimistic to some, but in my thirty years of life it hasn’t failed me yet.

You can check out many of my other favourite quotes here: 101 Inspirational Quotes.

I hope that some of you will join me in the blogging challenge & share your favourite quote, too. If you do, please leave a link below in the comments so that we can all check it out. xo

Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

This is such a good one, Scott. Something I need to be reminded of often. Thanks for sharing!

All this talk about quotes makes me hungry to read more. It’s like mini poems: )

Another that I try to live by, that I actually have written on my desk at work:
“Before you speak ask yourself: Is it kind, is it necessary, it is true, does it improve upon the silence?”
    ― Shirdi Sai Baba

Yes, yes, yes! I love this one. I always had two above my desk at work:

“Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier.” —Mother Teresa
“The secret to success is consistency of purpose.” —Benjamin Disraeli
