If you’ve been following this blog for any length of time, you’re probably aware that I am way into photography. Taking pictures has been a passion of mine forever. As a little girl, I would frame images in my mind and think, “That would make a great photograph.” When I was twelve-years-old, I started shooting with disposable cameras. In high school, I got my first digital point & shoot. When I was in college, I discovered Photoshop and the magic that could be created with a camera and some editing. In 2006, my father helped me to buy my first DSLR just before I left for my study abroad program in Kenya. And thus, my love affair with photography was born.

Over the years I have dappled in professional photography. I have had images featured in several travel guides and magazines. Finally, last spring I decided to launch my very own photography business — Firefly Jar Photography. Capturing life’s beautiful moments with a lens has always been pure magic to me — having the opportunity to capture those precious moments for others is a dream come true.

I have a few sweet sessions that I’ve done over the summer that I’ll be sharing here soon. In the meantime, if you’re interested you can check out Firefly Jar Photography on Facebook and you can check out my official site at
