It’s no secret that I love food, but what you may not know is that I also like to take pictures of it. As a part of my ongoing commitment to fitness, I’m sharing my favourite healthy culinary creations with ya’ll in a new Food Diary series. Bon appetit!

August is for all kinds of fun things like campfires, state fairs, and garden tomatoes. This month I’ve been behaving (mostly) & sneaking in some terrible/delicious treats here & there too.

(Edit: Unfortunately I didn’t maintain my Flickr account and most of the pictures in this post were lost. However, if you’re looking for more food inspiration, click here and there are lots more great food posts & recipes for you to explore!)

A couple of weekends ago I headed to the county fair with my family. Even though we got rained out halfway through our day, we still had so much fun. | fun slide | candy apples

I stayed away from the sweet stuff, but totally gave in when I passed the fried pickles(!) stand. You guys don’t even know. I LOVE pickles. When I was a baby, my first two words were happy and pickle. (Really, ask my mom.) | county fair

I’ve also indulged in a couple of brews around the campfire… | campfire

…but other than that I’ve been on the straight & narrow. ๐Ÿ™‚

Cage-free organic eggs on whole grain, flax seed tortilla with a glass of almond milk for Sunday morning breakfast.

Green pepper, onion, mushroom, tofu stir fry with a splash of soy sauce.

Natural peanut butter & jelly, stir fry, & salad with garden tomatoes and cucumbers.

Vegan baked beans from my favourite natural foods store. So good!

That’s it for me, friends! What have you been eating this month?

  1. Some really yummy food shots, I should not be looking at this post at lunchtime…..very hungry now. Those apples look so good and the baked beans would be so perfect right now.

I am going to ban you from my sight during lunch from now on…..unless, of course, you send me one of those delicious apples thru cyber space. ๐Ÿ™‚
