Halloween Costume Ideas for Babies & Toddlers

DenaOctober 4, 2013

If you know me, then you know that Halloween is my favourite holiday. I’ve been obsessed with the month of October since I was a girl. I even painted my bedroom pumpkin-orange when I was a teenager. (Still can’t believe Mom & Dad allowed that one.) So maybe it’s not too surprising that I’ve been thinking about Roman’s first Halloween costume since I found out I was pregnant. 😉 Yea, I admit it, I’m totally that mom. I spent months debating over what he would be. I’ve finally decided but I’ll be revealing that a little bit later. For now, here are the runners-up as well as a few of my favourite baby girl costumes, too.

Haha! Right? I found this one after I had already purchased Roman’s costume. If I hadn’t already gotten it, this may have been “the one!” 🙂

I know, I love Halloween too! I always dress up, even if it’s just cat ears. I’m so excited to have a kid now to enjoy these holidays so much more.
I bought Sam’s costume last year even before we knew what we were having: )
    I can’t wait to see Roman’s costume!

I’m a huge Halloween fan, and autumn in general. I never knew what I was going to do with the kids, I just knew what I didn’t want to do. I always wanted them to have more original costumes. I vowed that I would never make them a pumpkin, clown, or baby. Some of those costumes are adorable, but just too over-done, in my eyes. I even steered away from princesses as long as I could. I tried matching my girls up, but it never quite worked. Some of Kayla’s early costumes were, for her 1st a kitty, she was also a ghost, Peter Pan, a bride, a go-go dancer, etc. Oksana’s 1st Halloween she was a crocodile to match Kayla’s Peter Pan. It was the only costume I could find that little. She was also Superman, a rag doll, and she matched me once (yes, I dress up) she was Snow White, and I was the Evil Queen. Jack matched me a few times too. I was Cruella DeVil, and he was a Dalmation, I was “Mom” of Frankenstein (really Bride) & he was the Frankenstein monster, I was Spiderella, and he was Spiderman. It was fun! Now they do their own thing, but still try to be creative. I love it! (sorry, too long) I can’t wait to see little Roman dressed up. Out of these, the owl is my fave too!

Me too. I will definitely dress Roman as Max one year. Probably once he becomes a fan of the book, too. <3

so cute! my recommendation is to definitely enjoy the years of being about to pick your baby’s costumes! I kind wish that roman and asher would let me choose their costumes still, but roman has his own ideas of course and i’m thinking i will probably have to make asher match! otherwise he will not go for it! he has to be just like big brother. 🙂

Awwwww! My sister goes through this with her little guy. He is 4 and he always wants to be a superhero or a character from Cars. LOL… I will definitely enjoy these years while they last! 😉
