“I’m restless. Things are calling me away. My hair is being pulled by the stars again.”
—Anaïs Nin

It’s safe to say that I’ve traveled a little bit in my lifetime. I’ve visited Kenya, Paris, London, and lots of islands in the Caribbean. And while I’ve traveled a bit in the U.S. — I’m sorry to say that most of my friends in Europe have seen more of the states than I have! I’ve had a burning desire to see my country for awhile now but lately the ache has been palpable & haunting. Pregnancy and new motherhood have kept my travel bug at bay for awhile, but I’m starting to itch.

I’ve started to map out an incredible route that will take us from home (New Jersey) all the way across the country to the southwest. I’m so ready to throw a bunch of clothes, a few sleeping bags, and our tent in the back of my Jeep and just go. Right now it’s just a dream but I’m determined to make it a reality soon.

Never been on a really long long trip with a little one, but I am planning a journey along the West Coast one day. 🙂 I’d love to see more of the States. (I live in Poland).

How nice! I’ve heard that the drive along the Pacific Coast is stunning. And that you must rent a convertible for the trip. 🙂

You know I had to stop and encourage you to go. Pump milk. Take turns. Everyone will grow.

Some of my favorite places in the desert are: Zion National Park (best national park cabins i’ve ever encountered), Grand Canyon (and the park cottages are clean and a good value), the landscape around Sedona (Oak Creek Canyon is as good as everyone says), Casa Grande south of Phoenix, the whole area around Lake Tahoe. I’ve not been to NM, and I really want to do Monument Valley and Canyon de Chelly someday. We also have Bryce Canyon on our list, as well as the North Rim of Grand Canyon (could be combined with Zion.) You know you’re welcome to message me and pick my brain as much as you like. xo

Rob shared this site with me a couple weeks ago: https://roadtrippers.com/welcome?mode=explore Have fun with this; )

We are driving to Charleston this Sunday, about a 3.5 hour drive. It’s also going to be a test run with Sam since we are thinking of driving to New York for Thanksgiving. which is about 11 hours (more like 12+ with Sam). I think Sam will do just fine and if not…well, it’s a learning experience, just like anything else!

I’d love to take a road trip too! I think it’s so important to travel with kids and just show them that there’s a world out there. Good luck!
