Wanted // 001
In an effort to beat my winter blues, I’ve been doing a bit of “online” window-shopping. (Plus, my 30th birthday is just a few months away… Hint, hint!) Here are a few things that I am lusting after at the moment.
1. I’ve been wanting a food dehydrator for a few years now. In the summer, our garden and families’ gardens produce such an abundance of fruit & vegetables that it’s impossible to eat it all. Food ends up going to waste every year and it’s such a shame. I will have a dehydrator when harvest season comes around this year. Sash posted this amazing how-to for semi-dried tomatoes that I can’t wait to try. Just imagine a sweet, garden cherry (from your own garden!) in the middle of winter! Would be heavenly right about now. I’ve got my eye on this one
2. If you follow my home design inspiration board on Pinterest then you already know how obsessed I am with green houseplants & macrame — saddest part about it, though? I don’t have a single piece of macrame in my own home. I’ve been lusting after several pieces from this Etsy shop & took the plunge this afternoon and ordered a few. I can’t wait for them to arrive and to give a few of my houseplants a new, gorgeous home.
3. I need a pair of gardening/rain boots. I don’t have a single pair of waterproof boots. My last pair were a cheap Ebay purchase and they bit the dust last spring. It’s really a miracle that my feet have survived this winter. Regardless, little R. and I will be spending a ton of time outdoors come spring. I’ve got enormous plans for our garden and we’re getting chickens! Hunter boots seem like a steep investment, but I’ve heard such good things. Do you have any experience with them or other recommendations?
4. Speaking of chickens! Spring is (not-so-quickly) approaching and I’m determined to make my life-long dream of owning chickens a reality this year. I’m head-over-heels for this gorgeous coop from Williams Sonoma. It’s a way out of my budget, but I’m going to try to talk Matthew into building me a replica. (The perks of being married to a carpenter!)

The Hunter rain boots are too cute! I want some as well and it would be adorable if you and Roman had matching boots! I love my little boys in rain boots. 🙂

I’m jealous you’re getting chickens, I have been wanting them for YEARS and it never seems quite right. My dad lives a few blocks away and raises them. One escaped and the dog got it 🙁 Keep those wings clipped! 🙂 As far as boots, have you considered Bogs? They’re popular around here (lots of rain AND snow) and might be a bit less expensive AND they have tot sizes 😉 xo

We are the same! Except I already have the dehydrator and it’s also a Nesco – highly recommend, and it’s also quiet which is apparently a treat.
Thanks for the plant hanger link – I also recently decided I want some but couldn’t find any affordable ones online.
