baby wears // raw amber teething necklace (giveaway)

DenaMarch 26, 2014

The first time that I heard about raw amber for teething was over the summer when Roman was a newborn in his carriage. A friend of my sister’s was literally raving about how her raw amber necklace was the only thing that could soothe her teething toddler. After that, I heard about the wonders of raw amber more and more. At 10.5 months, Roman has eight teeth. I am so grateful that he hasn’t had much teething pain over the past month, but we’ve certainly had our fair share of long nights and fussing — especially since his teeth tend to come in in sets of two or three.

When the folks over at Amber for Babies reached out and asked me to try out one of their teething necklaces, I was all for it. Anything that could potentially help my baby is a given as far as I’m concerned. It’s a bonus that I find the raw amber to be gorgeous, too. I never imagined my baby son would be sporting a necklace, but there’s something about this one that is so right. I call it surfer chic and I love it.

It is said that when the amber comes in contact with the warmth of your baby’s skin, it unlocks the natural healing properties within each stone. Since amber is the fossilized form of tree resin, it has special properties that release healing oils and reduce pain and redness caused by teething. Amber for Babies necklaces are made with true Baltic amber and are made entirely by hand. There are two knots on either end of each bead so that beads will not fall off and scatter in the event that the chain breaks. We’ve had Roman’s necklace for over six months now and it’s still in perfect shape.

When I first looked, I thought Roman was holding a pregnancy test and I got all exciting thinking you were announcing a pregnancy! Ha!

I don’t know what Daddy will think about this but I am willing to try it to relieve some of the teething fussiness! 😉
