Carousel — 10.01.10 & The Winner Is…!

DenaOctober 1, 2010

Every Friday, I post my favourite links, posts, & resources from around the Web. Expect to learn, grow, & be inspired!

1. Living a Tolerant Life: I am a huge believer in the live & let live philosophy. It’s nice to engage in friendly conversation & political banter once in awhile, but that’s where I draw the line. I have no desire to communicate with people who actively engage in political arguments, persuasion, and the “I’m right, you’re wrong!” mentality.

This post about living with tolerance gives a voice to what I have been feeling over the past several months. It is a bright light among a sea of darkness, fear, & confusion. I truly believe that in order to achieve peace and well-being for yourself, you have to learn to let others be. Yes!

2. How to Be Confident: Tim Brownson recently shared this brilliant post with his readers. If you’re interested in a process that can move you from nervous to confident, or from uninspired to motivated—it’s a must read. This is just one of the many life-altering processes taken from Tim’s book, How to be Rich and Happy which I read last Winter & highly recommend.

3. 7 things I know about active letting go. (sure beats waiting.): And last, but certainly not least, I positively adore this post from Danielle LaPorte. You probably already know that Danielle is one of the sexiest, wisest female bloggers out there. Her writing has a way of penetrating deep into my soul & this post about letting go is no exception. Go read it, now.

Happy October 1st, loves! I can not believe that I did not post a single Carousel in September. Simply put, life got in the way. September was a gigantic month for me. In September, I:

  • left my job (to pursue my dreams!) after three years
  • traveled to Paris
  • spent a weekend beside the sea with a best friend
  • started a brand new job
  • and began the process of registering myself as a real, live business!

A lot happened. Yes, I am EXHAUSTED—but I am also grateful, full, confident, and thrilled to begin writing the next chapter of this gorgeous adventure titled, My Life.

And on that happy note, I have one more announcement to make. First, thank you—from the depths of my heart—for the love-filled, inspirational comments on my review of The Gifts of Imperfection. I was floored by the beautiful imperfections that you all shared. As promised, I’ve randomly selected a winner to receive my advanced copy. And the winner is…

Cindy!

Cindy—Please email me your address & I’ll get the book in the mail to you. Enjoy!

That’s it for this week. Lots of good stuff coming up the pike from me to you. Keep your eyes peeled.

xo,
D.
