“I want to be part of the fellowship of the broken.
The fellowship of the broken believe that suffering is a gift
He entrusted to us and He can be trusted to make the suffering into a gift.
The fellowship of the broken take up the fearless broken way,
are not afraid of brokenness, and don’t need to try to fix anyone’s brokenness,
or try to hide it or judge it or mask it or exile it…
Never be afraid of broken things—because Christ can redeem anything.”
–Ann Voskamp

This morning I woke up early and hid Easter eggs in our living room. When my babies woke up, we crept downstairs to find out if the Easter bunny had been here. After a little while they spotted eggs and explored every inch of the room until they found them all. He also left them each a chocolate bunny that made their eyes light up in a way that was so precious it made my Mama heart flutter.

After our egg hunt we had a breakfast of cereal and Easter eggs. From there, it was time to get ready for church. We had a lovely childrens’ message about Christ’s most precious gift, followed by another egg hunt with all of our Sunday School friends.

After church, we headed to my parents’ house for yet another egg hunt and Easter baskets filled to the brim with goodies. From there, we all headed to a favorite local pub for a delicious brunch.

It was such a beautiful day–even if, let’s face it, holidays as a single mom are beautiful and really difficult at the same time. And yet, my heart is utterly full and bursting at the seams with love & gratitude today. I’m going to keep this message short because the excerpt from Ann Voskamp above says it all really.
