This afternoon my dad came over to install new blinds in my bedroom. Bit by bit, project by project, our beautiful house is turning into a home. I’ve written a little bit about the bouncing around that the babies and I have done over the past two years. It was difficult at times, but in the end, here we are, literally in my dream house. The house that I bought in June is right up the street from my parents. I’ve honestly been in love with this house for as long as I can remember. Every day on our daily walks, I would go out of our way just so that we could come down this little dead-end street and walk past this house. Creepy, maybe? Love, definitely.

Back when it came up for sale last winter, I was in no position to buy a home. My life had been turned over on its head and I was at one of the lowest points of my life–physically, emotionally, and even financially. But, something inside of me knew that this was meant to be and so I decided to fight for it. And fight I did! It was a long and painful process to say the least. The mortgage process is not fun, even in the best of circumstances. At one point I even lost the home to another buyer. However, after months of fighting–by what I can only describe as an absolute course of miracles–everything came together and here we are eight months later.

Moving into our new home has been so much fun. Sure, it is a lot of work, but slowly, slowly we are making it our own. I am so grateful for this space where my babies and I can live, love, and grow together. I am so lucky to have so many great friends & family around us to tackle the many (MANY!) home improvement projects that my creative heart dreams up. Watching my little ones get involved with our projects and lend their “helping” hands fills my heart with the purest joy.
