Party Planning Dreams & Basic Invite
The past year has been so intense for my little family, we’ve been through so many ups and downs and big changes. With all of that change, we didn’t get to have formal birthday parties for Roman and Marina this year. We had a lot of fun celebrating their special days at the aquarium and at the zoo, but still, there’s nothing like a party.
Next year I am going to make it up to them for certain. I’ve just recently started looking through party ideas on Pinterest and all of my wheels are spinning. I’m considering two smaller parties, one for each of them or possibly a bigger joint party since their birthdays are fairly close together, in late March and early May.
I was just searching through my archives for some of my favorite party pictures from over the years. Taking these little walks down memory lane is so bittersweet. I am grateful to have all of our memories captured here in this space, but it also makes me emotional too. I always end up getting sucked into their infant posts — when their cheeks were ever-so-squishy! Oh my goodness. My Mama heart can hardly stand it.
Getting back on track… one of my favorite parts of party-planning is selecting invitations. I absolutely love seeking out the perfect message, design, and colors for the invitations. I feel like the invitations are a “sneak peek” of what’s to come for the guests. I love to build the excitement. I’m not exaggerating when I say I have spent hours & hours of my life browsing and custom-designing invitations. It’s a labor of love for me. Party and event-planning has always been a passion of mine, whether it’s a big event like a wedding, a child’s party, or a backyard BBQ — I love them all.
Speaking of parties and invitations, one of my long-time favorite places for invitations and stationery is Basic Invite. Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows customers almost unlimited color options with instant previews online. Once you select a design you can change the color of each element on the card to over 180 different color options. So, you can make sure the card is exactly how you want it – down to the littlest detail.
They also offer custom printed samples before you order, over 40 different colors of envelopes, and a free address collection service — all of the wonderful little details that make party-planners like me feel so happy and well-cared for. By the way, Basic Invite just launched their new rose gold foil option which is so gorgeous. I am all over everything rose gold at the moment.
Whether you’re looking for general invitations and stationery, unique wedding invitations, cute save the dates, or table name cards — Basic Invite has got you covered.
Okay, friends, my little ones are finally asleep. I have to go fold some laundry, while I fight the temptation to spend the next hour on Pinterest deciding on their next birthday party theme. 😉 xo
