Red, White, Blue & Sweet: Happy Independence Day!
Happy 4th of July, friends! On this day, we celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. That Declaration proclaimed to the world our emergence as a new sovereign nation, as we state in the pledge to our flag, “under God, with liberty and justice for all.” On this day, my heart fills with gratitude for all of the people who have fought and continue to fight to keep our nation safe and free.
As for the little ones & I, we’ve been so busy celebrating the weekend with family and friends. We had friends visiting from out of state and we had our first official sleepover. We had a lovely BBQ at our church on Sunday. Most of all, we’ve been enjoying the sunshine and splashing around in the baby pool in our backyard. I don’t attempt fireworks with them yet, because they’re usually in bed by 8 o’clock and most fireworks displays don’t begin until 9 pm when it gets dark. While I look forward to seeing the glory of the 4th of July fireworks someday soon, I am so much enjoying this season of tiny sweetness and early bedtimes with my babies. I know, full well, how quickly it will pass.
Have a beautiful day, dear friends. Sending you wishes of love, warmth, sunshine, and cold drinks. xo
P.S. Can we all just take a moment to gush about how tiny & sweet Roman & Marina were back on Independence Day 2015!? I can’t even!
