Day 30: Your Hopes for Your Blog

30-day-blogging-challenge

I started this blog in the summer of 2009 as something to do when I was bored at work. It quickly evolved into a journey, my story, and a little community grew around it. Over the years, the concept has changed. It went from “self-help,” to motivational, to lifestyle, to a mommy blog. I hate to put a label on it though. It is simply an extension of me. It flows from me. Whatever is happening in my life, happens in my blog. Truthfully, I don’t know what my long-term hopes are for this blog. I would like it to keep growing. I’ve made the most beautiful & precious friendships through it. I’ve grown closer to a couple of my family members that read it faithfully. I’ve learned a tremendous deal about myself. I would love for all of this goodness to continue.

ROMAM1

I hope that I can keep a good chronicle of Roman’s life here so that he might look back on it someday. I hope that I can provide something of value to my readers, recommendations that make life a little easier, a little sweeter. Mother Teresa said, “Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier.” I suppose that is my greatest hope for this space, that people leave it better and happier. That would be the greatest accomplishment that I could want.

Last week I hit 500 posts. Here’s to 500 more. Thanks for being along for the ride, friends.

A special thank you to everyone that particiapted in my blogging challenge! I’ve had such fun reading all of your posts & comments! Without a doubt, I’ve gotten to know many of you better. I’ve also gotten to know myself a little bit better and the daily prompts have given me lots of food for thought for future posts & features. Blogging every day for 30 days got to be a real “challenge” at times, but I’m glad that I stuck with it.

It was such a fun challenge, I really enjoyed doing it!

I wish I would’ve started a blog sooner, I’ve always had private livejournals which I enjoy looking back on to see how much Reagan has grown, but I wish I would’ve had a public blog so family would’ve been able to keep up with it as well.

Hard to say. Still not sure if I want a blog. Part of me feels like I’m a good writer, people enjoy what I write in softball previews, e-mails, recaps, fantasy league stuff, etc. I’ll think I’m a good writer, people would enjoy a blog about my life. I’ll say to myself … your life is entertaining and people can even learn and improve their lives, etc. But then at the same time, I’ll think …. my life is so entertaining, and I can help others learn …. doesn’t that arrogantly mean I’m implying that my life is good enough to write about while others isn’t. Also, where do I draw the line of what to share about life and what not to. I feel there’s more negative than positive, which is probably why I don’t have a blog about my life right now.

Yay! We made it till the end! Thanks for the challenge Dena! I have to admit, there were some tough days! It really made me start thinking about my own blog and how I want to approach it. I’ve learned a lot about myself too through writing in my blog. It’s like a way to keep yourself in check.

I’ve been bad about posting a link to my blog the comments: http://hello-sprout.blogspot.com/2013/11/blog-challenge-day-30.html
