While you are busy making plans for 2010, I want to encourage you to take a few moments to reflect on the past twelve months of your life. Write a letter to 2009. Thank it for all of the opportunities that it presented you. Reflect on the triumphs and the failures that you endured. Recount your most beautiful memories and even the painful ones, too.
Write your letter from the bottom of your heart. I’d like to share mine with you.
Dear 2009,
Thank you for everything. Thank you for allowing me to grow. In you, I have achieved great things. In you, I have also fallen down (a lot). You have been the most transformational, inspirational year of my lifetime. In you, I found my purpose and my passion. It came to me softly in the beginning — To Help Others by Sharing My Story & the Lessons I Have Learned Along the Way. Back then, I didn’t know how I was going to do it; but I listened intently to the Universe. Eventually my path was made clear and Evolution was born. Today Evolution screams to me and tugs at my heart strings always. My mission and vision is more clear than ever — Empowering You to Live the Life of Your Dreams.
2009 has been a year of small steps that have lead to tremendous impacts. It has been the beginning of an incredible journey. I have taken the first strides in pursuit of my passion. I have stared fear straight in the eye and asked for the things that I wanted & deserved. For the first time in seven years, I am in control of my finances and taking important steps toward financial freedom. I have defined my core values: positivity, beauty, freedom, happiness, health, kindness, and love. I began new, inspirational friendships. I cemented and revitalized old friendships. And I ended toxic relationships and habits.
In this year, I have practiced — more than ever — the most important life skill: Conscious Living. I am aware that happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony. I work hard to live everyday with that principle at the forefront of my mind. I am more patient, kind, and loving than I have ever been. I am also more brave, willing, and dedicated than I ever imagined possible. I am grateful and humbled by each blessing bestowed on me over the past twelve months.
2009 you have been gorgeous, sparkling, full of magic. You have raised my spirit up and out of the pains of my past. You have taught me that I am capable of everything and that there is nothing beyond my reach. I am grateful now and forever. I look out across the distance, to my future, to 2010. With the lessons and the strength gained, I vow to make 2010 the most amazing year of my life yet. I will create the life of my dreams and in doing so, I will empower my readers to live the life of their own dreams. I will lead by example in each & every action that I take. And when I fall down, I will get back up — every, single, time.
Thank you 2009 for being so good to me and for allowing me to be so good to myself & others.
In Love & Light — Forever & Always,
Dena
Some Evolution Site Updates
It has been six months — half a year! — since the creation of Evolution. What an incredible journey it has been thus far. 2009 was certainly an exciting year, but it was only the beginning. I have enormous plans in store for Evolution in 2010. Here is a sneak peek at some upcoming plans:
A New Domain! I have purchased a domain and the site will be moving over to it in the coming weeks. Blogger was an awesome jumping-off point; but Evolution is ready to move to its own little home in cyberspace.Increased Posting Frequency! The posting frequency in 2009 has varied between 1 – 5 posts per week. In 2010, I am going to work hard to update Evolution at least three times a week.
Exciting New Content! My mind is overflowing with ideas — book reviews, interviews, guest posts, contests, and more. (Also, please feel free to write me or leave a comment if you have ideas/requests for future posts!)A New Name & Visual Identity! Last, but certainly not least, along with the move to its new domain, Evolution will be getting a brand new design *and* a new name. The new name is not much of a departure and Evolution is still in it, but there will be an important addition. Keep your eyes open for that.
Thanks so much to all of you for making Evolution a great success in 2009. I am sending you loads of love, best wishes, positive energy, and light! Here’s to 2010, let’s make it the best year ever!
