It’s Friday and Memorial Day Weekend is kicking off! Despite what the calendar says, around here Memorial Day Weekend means summer is beginning! It is such a fun & exciting time of the year for us. With summer on the horizon, the magic of warm weather is dancing through our minds. BBQs, carnivals, fairs, days at the lake, trips to the sea, camping, and of course ice cream are all on the agenda.

Speaking of ice cream, I snapped these photos of my babies a few weeks ago when we made a trip to Bellvale Creamery in Warwick, NY. It’s an absolute must on our list of summertime things to do. Trip Advisor ranked it as #2 on the list of the “Top 10 Ice Cream Parlor’s in the United States” a few years ago, but we’ve been knowing that little secret for a long time around here. It’s a little less than an hour drive for us and worth every minute. If you’re in the Hudson Valley area this summer, I highly recommend making a visit.

I want to wish you all a Happy Memorial Day Weekend. We are getting ready to spend time with family, eat some delicious BBQ, and attend our town’s Memorial Day parade. Fingers crossed for lots of sunshine. I also want to stop and take a moment to remember the true reason for Memorial Day which is to remember & honor those who gave their lives to protect our country. I remind my children of the true importance of this day and we pause often through the weekend to give our thanks to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for us. “All gave some; some gave all.” ♥
