DIY: Heart-Shaped Arrows
One of my favourite projects from Roman’s camp-themed first birthday party was the adorable hanging arrow installation. I had seen a few similar arrow ideas on Pinterest and was determined to create my own adorable version. Here’s a little how-to guide.
You will need:
- 3 sheets of sticky-backed glitter foam in gold
- 1 heart pattern
- a pen
- wooden dowels
- red & green feathers
- colorful washi tape
- a hot glue gun
- scissors
First, trace rows of hearts onto the backside of the glitter foam sheet. Then, cut out heart shapes.
Next, wrap washi tape around wooden dowels in fun, colorful patterns.
Then, peel the backing off of one glitter foam heart. Press the end of a wooden dowel into the heart. Peel the backing off of another glitter foam heart. Carefully press the second heart onto the wooden dowel, being careful to align the two hearts perfectly.
Next use a hot glue gun to glue feathers onto the end of your arrow.
Finally, use rustic twine to hang your arrows up as decorations.
Aren’t these just the sweetest? They would make a great decoration for Valentine’s Day, too! I had a lot of fun putting them together. Let me know if you give this little project a try. I’d love to see what you come up with — there are so many possibilities. xo
