Travel Guide: Dublin, Ireland

Dublin is a gorgeous and magical little city. It has a colorful, historic charm, it’s cozy, and yet there is plenty to do. When I visited Ireland in August with my sister, we were lucky enough to have an old friend show us around. Having the local perspective to point out the best of the sights is always a treat.

Dublin was a bit of a whirlwind, as we came in on an overnight flight and we only had the day there. Still we made the most of it and packed as much as we could into our time and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I hope that you will enjoy my travel guide for Dublin, Ireland along with some photographs that I snapped during our visit. Most of the pictures are from Dublin and a few are from Baldoyle, a coastal suburb on Dublin’s north side, where my friend lives.

What to Do:

• Walk along Fleet Street and take in the gorgeous pubs and shops
• Walk around the grounds of Trinity College
• Have a pint and a bag of cheddar chips (crisps) at The Palace Bar
• Walk over the Ha’penny Bridge foot bridge across the River Liffey
• Have lunch at Woolen Mills, sit near the windows and watch the passersby
• Traditional Irish music pub crawl

• Woolen Mills (their fish finger sandwich was divine!)
• Brother Hubbard
• Mulligan’s
• Grogan’s (a Dublin institution, have a toasted cheese sandwich–the only food they do–while there
• The Market Bar
