    Hi Dena,

I know exactly what you mean about being absorbent. I stopped watching the news and I tend not to read the news either, because I will end up feeling overly emotional about something that doesn’t directly affect me. Not only that, but it makes me feel so bad that it does end up affecting my life because I can’t focus or do anything. As far as social media goes, personally I’m not really into it. I have accounts, but they are mostly for business. Frankly I find them to be really tedious. The only thing I’ve really gotten into is Pinterest. THAT I am OBSESSED with. I love it so much it’s ridiculous, and I can’t even imagine giving it up right now. But I totally get where you’re coming from and it sounds like it’s the right for you! πŸ™‚

Also, I would definitely be interested in a penpal situation! I think that would be fun!

    Thanks,
    Liv

    Dena,

My sentiments exactly! I too have begun to shy away from social media esp Facebook for the exact same reasons. I found myself comparing myself to others, thinking that others were having more fun in their lives than I was. As for the diversion of my attention the time spent scrolling FB I believe was taking away from my valuable reading time , I love reading and have so many books to get through. Lastly I too found myself taking on the feelings of many of my FB friends. Very well said, I could not have said it better.

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts, Pamela. I’m always happy to know that I’m not alone. ❀️
